Olivia Edwards Miller's Obituary
Olivia Edwards Miller, 74, of Palmetto, FL earned her heavenly wings on January 22, 2016. Olivia was born and raised in Branchville, SC and moved to Manatee County in 1963 with her family. During her working years, Olivia was employed in housekeeping, cutting flowers with the Lemon Company in Palmetto and most recently in home health care as a home health aide, also offering respite care to families and sitting with those during their final hours and minutes. Olivia was the matriarch of the family, the Rock, the glue that held her family together. She loved family gatherings, cooking, singing hymns and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Olivia was a member of Mt. Raymond Full Gospel Baptist Church of Palmetto.
Olivia is survived by her son; Perry (Bridgette) Miller, of Bradenton, her nephew that she raised as a son, Deon Edwards of Palmetto, daughters; Carol (Charles McNeal) Miller, of Palmetto, Thera Miller (Christopher) Lucas, of Palmetto, brothers; Woodrow (Maggie) Edwards, of Bradenton, Laurie (Ethel) Edwards, of Palmetto, Wallace (Angela) Edwards, of Palmetto, sisters; Mamie L. King, of Bainbridge, GA, Jessie L. Edwards, of Bradenton, grandchildren; Ralph Brown, Jr., Brian (Rachael) Johnson, Akilla Miller, Perry (Rika) Miller, Jr., Ariane (Dominique) Walker, Shedrick (Lanika) Miller, Larry Jackson, Chelsea Miller, Jakaiya (Melvin) Johnson, Anthony Miller, Jasmine Waiters, great grandchildren; Ralph Brown, III, Ra’shiya Brown, Arriana Johnson, Tyon Miller, Zalen Miller, Jeramiah Miller, Kameron Johnson, Adrienne Miller. Olivia Miller is preceded in death by her parents; Arthur Edwards, Mamie Kelly Edwards, brothers; Arthur Edwards, Jr., George Edwards, Harley Edwards, Henry Edwards, Delane Edwards, sisters; Eleree Robinson, Lessie Bowman, Rebecca Edwards, and her own children; Frankie Lee Miller, Shirley Ann Miller and Jasper Miller.
A visitation will be held at Mt. Raymond Full Gospel Baptist Church of Palmetto on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Ms. Miller will then be laid to rest in Skyway Memorial Gardens.
