Paul David Weller, Sr's Obituary
Paul David Weller, Sr., 82, of Bradenton, Florida passed away on May 9, 2016. Paul was born in Media, PA to the late Paul Darius and Marion Fretz Weller on April 15, 1934. Paul moved to Florida from PA in 1952. Paul earned his college degree and proudly served our country in the US NAVY. He married the love of his life, Lyla Gasser and they began their life of 60 years together, raising 6 children. Paul worked as an Electronics Technician and retired from EMR/L3 Communication in 1992 and, retired again after working many years for the State College of Florida. Paul was a man with a strong work ethic that he proudly instilled in his children, and was a man of integrity and morals. Paul had a fantastic sense of humor that he too, passed to his children, and he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an amazing and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His presence will be deeply missed by so many. Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Lyla Weller, of Bradenton, FL; daughters, LeeAnn Weller, of Plano, TX; Barbara Weller, of Bradenton, FL; Linda (Dean) Guth, of Palmetto, FL; sons, Paul D. (Susan) Weller, Jr., of Rogers, AR,; Richard A. (Laura) Weller, of Palmetto, FL; Michael J. (Rebecca) Weller, of Valrico, FL; sister, Patricia Solo, of Oregon; brother, Thomas Weller, of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren; Carley, Madison, Hennessee and Ava; many nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Joan Masel O’Keefe and brother, Alfred Ray Weller. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Skyway Memorial Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 pm. The funeral service with military honors will begin at 2:00 pm. He will be then laid to rest in Skyway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s name may be made to Tidewell Hospice.
