Mrs Pilar Baker's Obituary
Pilar Bouffard Baker, 91, of Palmetto, FL passed away August 17, 2024. She was born on October 12, 1932 in Cebu, and grew up in Dumaguete, an island of the Philippines, to Luis and Teresa Bouffard. Pilar came to the United States 68 years ago. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Donald Baker; 6 children, Earl, Wayne, Marie, Carmen (Debra), Danielle, and Jonathan (deceased); 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; siblings Luis Encarnacion Bouffard (deceased), Jose Encarnacion Bouffard, Teresita Bouffard Arnaiz, and Lydia Bouffard Buquiran; her very special sister-like cousin Nuria de la Pena (deceased); and numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A true love story, Pilar and Donald were together constantly, never a moment apart. Pilar loved to go hunting and fishing with Donald. Together they traveled to many places throughout the USA. She loved her family and extended family. She loved to sew and cook for her family, and for family gatherings. As a certified seamstress (from Silliman College in the Philippines), she won a contract with the Mayfair High School Monsoon Drill Team. She sewed, fitted, and tailored for 43 members, day and night-time uniforms. She loved going to casinos and she loved shopping for bargains.
Pilar's bright, infectious smile and dimples lit up every room she walked into. She will be missed tremendously each and every day!
