Rayford “Harold” Gillis
March 25, 1932 - May 24, 2022
Harold is survived by his wife Velma Gillis, sister Linda Prater, her husband Jim, daughter Terry Hammer, son Ronald Gillis, granddaughter Tamara Melton, her husband Mark, grandson Justin Gillis, his wife Giselle, and great grandsons Jackson Melton and Justin Gillis, Jr.
Harold was a proud retired National Guard veteran and retiree from the Gulf Coast Research & Education Center after 34 years as Farm Administrator.
Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, driving race cars, raising cattle, and skydiving.
Harold would tell everyone how much he loved his family and said, “If there was a heaven on earth, he was living it.”
Services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 12 noon at Skyway Memorial Mausoleum Chapel.
