Richard retired from Ford Motor Company after 30+ years as an electrician. Richard and Julie loved hiking, kayaking and hiked several State and National parks. In addition to hiking trips, they have been on several cruises, a scuba diving trip to Bonaire and a Rhine River cruise. He loved to play a wide variety of music while sitting on his lanai/patio or while driving his golf cart. After selling their home in Greenwood, Indiana, they spent two years fulltime RV’ing, then settled in a home in Ellenton, Florida.
Richard loved his dogs Max, Maggie and Gus-Gus and often referred to them as his therapy dogs. Richard enjoyed the company of family and close friends that he referred to as “framily” friends who are chosen family. He will be missed greatly by all.
Services will be at the Sarasota National Cemetery on Tuesday, January 11th, at 10 AM. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date in Indianapolis.
