Robert E. Wyatt Jr's Obituary
Robert E. Wyatt Sr. passed away, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the age of 95. He was born on August 12, 1918 in Oneco, FL to the late Mark and Mildred Wyatt.
Bob was a descendent of one of Manatee County’s pioneer families and is a 5th generation Manatee County Resident. He was a 1939 graduate of the Bradenton High School and served his country in the U. S. Army’s Company ‘C’ of the 865th Engineer Aviation BN during WWII stationed in the Philippines. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a member of the ‘Son’s of the Confederacy’, a Commissioner for the Oneco-Tallevast Fire Dept., a Legacy member of the Manatee County Fish & Game Assoc., remaining active through the early nineties. He was employed for over 33 years by the Florida Power & Light Co, retiring in 1980. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Wyatt, son; Robert Wyatt Jr. and Kevin Wyatt, daughters; Gail Clem and Karen Wilson, along with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Wyatt will be on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 in the Skyway Memorial Funeral Home Mausoleum Chapel from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. with services following at 2:00 p.m. Following the services there will be a graveside committal service with military honors.
