Ruth Ann Buchanan's Obituary
Ruth Ann Buchanan, 85, of Bradenton, FL and formerly of Delaware, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Ruth was born in Dagsboro, Delaware, daughter of the late Kendall Shockley and the late Ida Adkins.
Ruth was a retired co-business owner of Dave’s Airport Auto in Sarasota with her husband and was a loving mother and grandmother. Ruth enjoyed many years boating and fishing with her husband. She loved walking the beach shell hunting, enjoyed country and gospel music, loved her family and enjoyed spoiling her grand dog, Duke.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Buchanan; her son, Curtis Millman and all her siblings, Howard Shockley, Daniel Shockley, Janet Ireland, Kathleen Bancroft and Donald Shockley.
She is survived by her children, Marilyn West, Alton (Rhoda) Millman, JR., Ray (JoAnna) Millman, Stanley Millman, Rick (Wendi) Buchanan, Richard (Linda) Hardin; numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Skyway Memorial Gardens, 5200 US Hwy 19N, Palmetto, FL 34221 at 1PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to ASPCA or your local animal shelter in Ruth’s name.
