Sarah C Byerley's Obituary
Sarah C. (Elizabeth) Byerley, (Mrs. Howard L. Byerley), "Sissy", passed away on April 8, 2013. She was born on November 6, 1920 in Knoxville, Tennessee, and lived in Bradenton, Florida since 1968. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrie D. Ziecina and her husband, Gordon, of Myakka City, Florida, her granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Scarborough of Venice, Fl, her grandson, David Howard Scarborough of Wesley Chapel, Florida and his wife Alyssa. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Jade Ziecina and Robert Corrigan. She is survived by her cousin, Marylynn Gilbert of Bradenton, Florida and her four children, John, Barry, Darryl and Laura, grandchildren and great-granchildren. Sarah was preceded in death by her brother, Carnes Craig of Bradenton and her husband, Col. Howard L. Byerley passed away in September of 1978. She never remarried. Her greatest joy in life was being an Air Force officer's wife. She was a deacon at Whitfield Presbyterian Church and she and Howard served the church for many years. Sarah also delivered Meals on Wheels in Bradenton. The funeral service will be held at Whitfield Presbyterian Church, 7045 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. and burial will be at Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto. Reverend Jane Jones-Norris will be officiating. Toale Brothers Funeral Home in Bradenton, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
