In Loving Memory of
Shelby J Ward 92, from Murphy NC (formerly of Bradenton FL) Went home to be with the Lord September 19th 2024. He was born October 13, 1931 in Elverton, WV to Cecil and Nora (Cain) Ward. He retired as a Power Saw Operator from Tropicana Bradenton Fl after 28 years of service. Shelby was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 61 years, Leatha M (Hinkle) Ward; sister, Elizabeth Ward; son-in-law, Ronald E. Maurer; and grandson, Ronald (Ronnie) W. Maurer. Survivors include his children, Ruth Maurer; David (Cindy) Ward; Darlene (Daniel) McClesky; Tamera (Jay) Cydrus; brother, Elmer Ward; grandchildren, Rachelle (Mikey) Stanley, Rodney (Tesa) Maurer, Patricia (Ryan) William, Rebecca (David) Fairchild, Dakoda (Rachel) Cydrus, Caleb McClesky, Cierra (Tyler) Maseth, Jordan Cydrus; 10 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family members and good friends. Visitation will be held from 10 - 11am on Tuesday, October 1 at Skyway Memorial Funeral Home, 5200 US Hwy 19 N, Palmetto. Funeral will be held at 11am followed by burial at Skyway Memorial Gardens.
