Shirley Ann Banas' Obituary
Shirley Ann Banas, 82, of Anna Maria Island, FL passed away August 8, 2024. She was born on June 26, 1942 in Coolspring,PA. Shirley was preceded by her loving husband, Edward, in 2010 and her special fur babies, Roulette and Nickels. A long time Island resident, Shirley was active in volunteering with the community church food drives and she served as treasurer for the Island Players Off Stage Ladies. She loved spending times playing Bingo and Mah Jong with her friends. She also enjoyed shopping at Dillard's for handbags and jewelry, spending time with her family, classic 70s rock, NASCAR racing, classic muscle cars, dogs, scuba diving, the beach, island life, plants/flowers especially orchids, and volunteering her time at various organizations. Shirley is survived by her son Edward A Banas and his wife, Ivette, of Oviedo, FL; and her fur baby, Harley. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 16 from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Skyway Memorial Funeral Home, 5200 US Hwy 19N, Palmetto. A funeral will follow at 1pm followed by entombment in Skyway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society and Roser Memorial Community Church (Food Pantry) in her memory.
