Shirley Marlene Bickerton's Obituary
Shirley “Marlene” Bickerton, age 83 of Palmetto, FL formerly of Moundsville, WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Riviera Palms Rehabilitation Center, Palmetto, FL.
She was born August 17, 1935 in Glen Dale, WV daughter of the late Charles and Anna Geisler Cassis.
Marlene was a retired store clerk for State Food Store and Greggs Market, Moundsville where she will always be remembered for “Marlene’s Famous Ham Salad”. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Moundsville, WV and the Family Church of God United Methodist Church, Palmetto, FL.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Kathy Jo Bickerton.
Survivors include her husband, of 63 years, James “Jim” Bickerton; one son: Bishop Thomas J. (Sally) Bickerton of White Plains, NY; one daughter: Jamie Ann (Brian) Rozelle of Frederick, MD; four grandchildren: Elizabeth Bickerton (Chris) Carrubba of Charlotte, NC, T.J. (Claire) Bickerton of New York City, NY, Ian Robert Edwards of Meadville, PA and Bruce Nicholas Edwards of Cranberry Township, PA and one great-grandson: Holden James Carrubba.
The Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 1”00pm until time of service at 3:00pm at the Family of God United Methodist Church, 5601-16th Ave., E., Palmetto, FL 34221. The family will also receive friends on Friday, December 14th from 5-7pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, WV. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 1601-1st Street, Moundsville, WV 26041 with Bishop Thomas J. Bickerton officiating, assisted by Rev. Annette Carper and Dr. Randy Flanagan.
Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard, WV.
