SIAOSI PELEKI MA'AFU's Obituary
Siaosi P. Ma'afu, 43, of Bradenton, Florida passed away November 8, 2015. Siaosi was born June 6, 1972 in the South Pacific country of Tonga. His family moved to the United States in 1985 and lived in Largo. He has called Bradenton home for the last 15 years. Siaosi worked as a landscape designer and was most recently proud of the work he did around the grounds of the University Town Center mall. When Siaosi wasn't working, he was spending time with his wife, children and siblings. He was a fantastic cook and always a very "hands on" guy. Siaosi also coached football and wrestling for Largo High School, as well as coached football for the Police Athletic League. Siaosi was a loving husband, son, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Siaosi is survived by his wife of 15 years, Melenoa Ma'afu, sons; Samoa Funaki Ma'afu, Siaosi Peleki Ma'afu, Jr., daughters; Musie Matelau Ma'afu, Tupou-Mapu Sina Rama Ma'afu, brothers; Sione Tonga Ma'afu, Kaifanga Ma'afu, sisters; Saane Mendez, Losimani Nauvai, Matelita Kalapa, Sine Kaivei, Linda Ofumaka and numerous nieces and nephews. Siaosi was preceded in death by his brother, Siale Kafoa Ma'afu and his parents, Silimoeki Ma'afu and Patiola Funaki Ma'afu.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 20, 2015 from 6:00-11:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Cortez Rd, Bradenton. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 21, 2015. Siaosi will be laid to rest, following the service, in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearwater, FL.
