Timothy Patrick Burns
Parrish, FL- Timothy P. Burns, 73, died at his home, on December 30, 2019, after a hard fought battle with lung cancer. He was born on March 22, 1946, in Washington, D.C., the son of Francis Xavier and Eileen (Fox) Burns.
Tim graduated from Montgomery Blair High School, class of 1965. He married his high school sweetheart, Alice Sweeney Burns, and settled in Bloomfield Hills, MI. They celebrated 51 years of marriage in August.
Tim was a member of the Knights of Columbus, A Marriage Prep leader in Raleigh, NC; A High School Faith Formation teacher at St. Frances Cabrini, and started a Cenacle of Divine Mercy at Saint Frances Cabrini this past fall. He enjoyed golfing with family, loved watching sports, and was a loyal Redskins fan. He is remembered for his great sense of humor and kind heart. He lived simply and with generosity, and was known to be wise and welcoming.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Burns, Surviving in addition to his wife, Alice, are his seven children, Lisa Hallowes and her husband, Mark, of Midland, VA; Anna Burns Whalen, La Grange, IL; Michael Burns, Chicago, IL; Kate Seng and her husband, Brian, of Roswell, GA; Terry Burns, Ferndale, MI; Matthew Burns and his wife, Hayley, of Oxford, MI; Dan Burns and his wife, Becca, of Bloomfield Hills, MI; 16 Grandchildren, One Great Grandchild, His sister Sharron Murray(Jim); Brother, Terry Burns (Miggy); Sister, Maureen Cusic; Sister, Gail Dailey (Russ); Brother, Chip Burns (Ellen); Brother, Chris Burns (Shawny); Sister, Liz Hunter (Kent) and Many Nieces and Nephews.
A Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated on Monday, January 6th at 11 a.m. at Saint Peter The Apostle Church, Route 75, Libertytown, MD (Union Bridge, MD) 21762 Those who wish to remember Tim in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Associate of Marian Helpers, 2 Prospect Hill Stockbridge, MA 01263-0001.
