Timothy P. Carr's Obituary
Timothy P. Carr, born January 9, 1954, passed
away in hospice care March 1st, 2025, after a long illness. Tim was born in New Haven, CT, at Grace-New Haven Hospital (St Raphael) to Edward F and Joan (Hitchcock) Carr and grew up in West Haven, CT. He attended St Lawrence School and later West Haven High School where he was involved in athletics, especially hockey.
He went on to work for the Metro North Railroad both in the yards and as a conductor. He later retired from the railroad and found new passion as a chef. He attended culinary school and went on to create at restaurants and country clubs in both Connecticut and Florida, even opening his own restaurant for a time. He was an accomplished artist as well, which was his true passion until his death.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Robert E Carr and sister Cynthia Carr Richau. He leaves behind and will be greatly missed by sister Karen Carr DeChello (Gary), niece Jennifer Richau Donovan (Tom) and many great nieces and nephews: Brenna Peterson (Andrew) and their children Michael, Rose and Molly, Kevin Hurley, Daniel Hurley (Alexandra), and Conor Hurley (Katelyn), McKenzie and McKayla Donovan, and Serena Donovan as a niece by choice. He also leaves behind his beloved friend who was by his always side and cared for him, Kimberley Burns, for which we will forever be grateful, as well as extended family and friends.
He will be cremated by Skyway Memorial Funeral Home in Florida. There will be no services at his request.
