Viola Kindley's Obituary
Viola Lisitano Kindley, a lifelong resident of Middletown, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2023, at Portland Care & Rehabilitation at the age of 92. She was born on October 2, 1930, to Sebastian and Maria (Romano) Lisitano in Middletown, Connecticut. Viola was the last surviving member of a large, close-knit family from Green Street. Viola dedicated many years of her life to her work. She was employed at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Middletown, Wallace Silversmiths in Wallingford, Connecticut, and later at Bob's Stores in Middletown and their Distribution Center in Meriden, Connecticut. Her hard work and commitment were evident in all that she did. In her leisure time, Viola found joy in playing Bingo, trying her luck with lottery scratch tickets, and spending time at the casinos. These activities brought excitement to her life, and she enjoyed them immensely. Above all, Viola cherished the moments spent with her large and loving family. Viola was preceded in death by her brothers Frank, Salvatore, Joseph, and Sebastian, as well as her sisters Angelina, Mary, Rose, Isabel, Carol, and Helen. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law Kenneth (Kip) Peterson. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Peterson (Scott Meadors) of LaBelle, Florida, and her grandchildren, Chad Peterson (Robert Estep) of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and Jodi Peterson (Sean Mandel) of Marlborough, Connecticut. Viola also leaves behind her beloved great-granddaughter, Marissa, who brought her immense joy and happiness. Viola Lisitano Kindley will be remembered for her strong spirit, her love for her family, and her dedication to those she cared for. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A memorial Dove release service to celebrate Viola's life will be held on August 1st 1:00 PM at Skyway Memorial Gardens.
