Sams, Willie James' Obituary
Willie James Sams, 67, of Bradenton, FL passed away March 29, 2025 at Tidewell Hospice House, Bradenton.
Willie was born December 5, 1957 in Clearwater, FL, the son of James and Lou Ester (McCleadon) Sams. He married Selestine Harris on January 2, 2001.
Willie had served as a security guard for Manatee Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Pathways Christian Fellowship Church.
During his leisure time, Willie enjoyed freshwater fishing, especially at Myakka Lake and Lake Okeechobee. He loved listening to music and watching Raiders Football games.
Surviving are his wife, Selestine; children, Willie Sams (Taneka), Cassie Sams, Demond Sams, Albany Sams, Ezra Simmons (Ida), Jori Simmons, Tacarra Simmons, Stephanie Joyner Vela (Oscar), Garis Joyner (Rayna); Siblings, Bettye Stokeling, Joan Sams, Betty Moore (Robert), Ruth Saunders (Robert), Sylvester Sams, Thomas Sams, Gwendolyn Williams (Robert), Eva Brown (Roy), Curtis Williams, Willie Williams; eleven grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and one aunt, Joyce Aldridge (William).
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Skyway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at the mausoleum chapel. Entombment will follow services at the mausoleum.
