Alfred M. Loose, 91, passed away peacefully at home in Palmetto on March 22, 2026. Born in Linden, Michigan, Al was a gifted athlete who earned a baseball scholarship as a pitcher at Western Michigan University. It was there that Read Obituary
I taught with Al, at Swartz Creek.
What a pleasure. One of the nicest people ever. He liked to tell stories of his past and laugh, causing those around him to do the same.
Talking baseball with Al was the best. He knew pitching inside and out.
His family was important to him and they will miss him everyday.

Taught with Al for several years at Swartz Creek. He loved to laugh and, certainly, golf. I really enjoyed listening to him talk about baseball, especially pitching. He was unreal with his knowledge.
Certainly sorry to hear of his passing. Still believe he will continue telling stories and making laughter.

I remember going to a basketball game between a group of men from Linden vs a Globetrotters type of team. Al was guarding an in bounds pass against a guy that kept spinning the ball back to himself so that Al would fail and trying to reach for it. After a couple failed attempts Al gently kicked the ball back hitting his opponent in the head (playfully not intending to harm him). The crowd cheered loudly and I was one of those happy kids watching.
