Sincerest sympathy to Denise’s family. I recall fond memories meeting Denise at Dominican High, then both of us hired as MISD Teachers in the same building. Denise was passionate about her profession and loved her students. I will miss her sweet smile and her kindness. I spoke to Denise last Summer before our 50th Class Reunion. She is remembered by many classmates and co-workers and her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved her. Rest in Peace sweet Denise. Love, Jenny and Jim

I was fortunate to share many laughs when Denise during our years working together at the MISD, but my favorite memory of her was celebrating her 50th birthday(I think) at a Dueling Piano Bar, she had this crazy pink feather boa and was singing and laughing and celebrating! We told the pianists we worked at an all girls school instead of our MIPP program…in case questionable choices were made that night! She was so much fun! 💜

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Denise at Peter's school. She was always so up beat and so dedicated to her students. I absolutely loved working with her. We shared many family stories over the years. She was so proud of her family. My prayers are with you.

We never got to know you and Denise, but we always waved when you went past our house or when we were out for a walk. One of my favorite memories with Denise was a family trip to Chicago years ago. It was my Dad’s (Denise’s Uncle) first time flying . The 30 minutes in the air between Detroit and Chicago were something we since always laughed about. It was a great weekend exploring the Magnificent Mile, enjoying everyone’s company and of course the experience of Armando’s Italian Restaurant (we were the only customers).

I am blessed that I was able to spend a few days in Florida over spring break last year. We enjoyed time with Denise and John. A couple days of breakfast, dinner and a day at the beach. Great weather, company, conversation and a beautiful memory.

I could always bounce my knowledge of family history off Denise and she would provide an additional part of the story, or I would fill in a gap where I remembered something special and we’d laugh.

I will think of and miss Denise when the family gathering holidays approach: Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and special occasions.

Denise was one of the first people I met in Florida through our exercise class in the community. She always had a smile on her face and kind words to share with all. Denise lit up a room and always brought joy to my day. I cherish the fond memories.
