In Loving Memory of Tarenthea M. Davis
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tarenthea M. Davis, beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend, who passed away on January 20th, 2026. She was 57 years old.
Tarenthea was born on November 21, 1968, in Sarasota, Florida, to Elder Jackie L. Davis Sr. and Evangelist Leathel S. Davis. She was the eldest of three siblings and took on the role of protector from a young age. She later served in the United States Coast Guard. After her services, she began her journey at the Department of Justice. While working at the Department of Justice, she achieved her master’s degree in information systems management from Strayer University. Her strong loving spirit and unwavering support made her an invaluable presence in the lives of those who knew her.
Tarenthea was known for her strong presence and compassionate heart. Whether through her words of encouragement or her genuine concern for others, she always sought to uplift those around her.
She faced life’s challenges with grace and resilience, leaning on her faith in God. Tarenthea believed in the power of prayer and often brought her family together to share in this spiritual connection.
Tarenthea was preceded in death by her Father, Jackie Leanard Davis Sr., and Mother, Evangelist Leathel Davis; Grandmother, Fannie Pearl Brown; Grandfather, Emanuel C. Davis; Grandfather, Henry C. Simon; Grandmother, Marth R. Simon; Uncle, Velton Johnson; Aunt, Stella Simon; Aunt, Betty James; and Uncle, Stanford Perkins.
Tarenthea is survived by her siblings, Jackie L. Davis Jr., Lisa Davis-Ita, and brother-in-law Augustine Ita, her nieces, Hannah-Michal Ita, Candece Ita, Shalom Ita, Naomi Ita, and Amira Ita, Aunt, Charlie Mae Simon-Doeblah (Burgess), Uncles Henry V Simon (Linda) and Louis T Simon (Wendy). Aunt, Martha Ann Felder, Aunt Jackie Johnson, Aunt Theresa Perkins (Uncle Stanford), Uncle Sanford Perkins. Special cousins Kimla S. Murrell and Shemeeka Murrell-Clove, and a host of family and friends who will forever remember her love, light, and strong voice.
Tarenthea M. Davis will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love, strength, and faith will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
