Mr. John Varvari
February 1, 1925 - March 27, 2018
John Varvari was born on February 1st, 1925 in Dearborn, Michigan. He joined the Lord in Heaven on March 27th, 2018 at age 93. Back when he was just 8 years old, he and his brothers were sent to Romania to work on his grandparents land. There he learned how to be a shepherd boy; maybe that instilled in him the desire to travel and to help others. When he was 17 he volunteered for the US Army, and even though he was under age at the time, the Army took him. He did his basic training at Camp Abbott in Bend, Oregon and served in Korea and Okinawa. After the war he met and married his one true love, Mary Gulasy at a dance. John was an entrepreneur by heart, loved music and loved to play the drums. A lifelong lover of golf, he played countless rounds and enjoyed the peace along with the challenge of being out on the course sometimes all day. While in Cleveland he started many live music and dance bands. Shortly thereafter he had his first daughter Kathy and soon to follow Marlene who are still happily married to their husbands, John’s sons-in-law. From his daughters, he was blessed with 3 grandchildren. He decided then to start his own printing company and art school, which became his life's work. John and Mary traveled the world together and loved each other dearly. When Mary became ill, he was by her side for many years being her care taker. He was a good father, grandfather, husband and devoted friend. He will be missed by his loving family and so many friends. He will be laid to rest at Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto, Florida.
