Kerry Jay Branan
December 17, 1962 - July 4, 2019
Kerry Jay Branan, 57, passed away on July 4, 2019. Seven years the younger of two, Kerry had his work cut out for him from the start. But his older sister would take him under her wing and teach him a bounty of lessons, like: why baby chicks shouldn’t join him in the tub, how mayonnaise could trigger his gag reflex, and what terror a clown mask could reek on his poor little soul! And at the ripe age of 14, his sister taught him how to be an uncle. And man, was Uncle “Chippie” good at that! (And there are many to confirm those claims.) And then one bright day, a lovely lady named Heidi, walked into his life. They shared the world together, from car racing to restoring his beloved “Thumper” to the most important of them all: becoming parents. Two beautiful children, Jess and Jeremy, completed their circle. So tightly knit. So willingly bonded by blood, this family is the shining example of love. And Kerry was an absolutely beloved and integral part of that chain. Today we are still. We are not moving. We are paused in all of the beautiful yesterdays. The stories that were told. The epic games of manhunt between the three family houses. The smoked ham, fish and chex mix. The SAUSAGE BALLS! The puzzle solver. The brilliant mechanic. The quiet comfort. The chuckle under his breath while his arms were folded high on his chest. The guy who would always say “yes” to a roller coaster and even brave the crowded parks and lines to get there. The guy, actually, who said yes to just about everything. Quietly, patiently and loyally minding his flock. Loss is always a struggle, but for the great ones taken too soon, we mourn harder. Kerry is survived by his wife Heidi, his two children Jess and Jeremy, his sister Karen, six nieces, one nephews, three grand nephews, two grand nieces, and numerous in-laws, cousins and adoring friends and fans. He will always be missed. A private ceremony with family will be held Saturday July 13th, 2019. A celebration of life for family, friends and fans will be take place on Saturday July 27, 2019 from 11am to 3pm at the Carbone residence. Please send DM for details. We appreciate all the calls, visits and acts of supreme kindness. We thank you for your support during this very difficult time.
